excellent point but no need to worry since the DEC wont do anything about EHd anyway except issue out more doe permits based upon their historical record .....

Im aware of that but sprayed pesticides across the forest is unexceptable to me I know it’s done for mosquito control in the lower counties but still i do not approve of killing many species of insects to get to one

Honestly, think spraying would do next to nothing, and don’t particularly care to have stuff sprayed on us. They should just not issue doe permits. It’s the only arrow that they have in their quiver. Personally, think they just want the herd wiped out, to appease the non hunters, in our suburban area. Hitting the does after this EHD blight, will insure they won’t have to deal with collision reports, and property damage issues, for a good deal of time

The obvious hint, that they could care less, is the ridiculous estimate of 1500 mortalities last year. If they said that happened in one township, it would be more realistic.

Ron, I walked some waterways near Ellenville and didn’t see any sign of it. Hope it stays that way.

I have friends spread out in several county’s in the ADKS and no signs of it yet and I’m talking areas from crown point up into the high peaks of Essex co into Hamilton co but I’m sure it would be hard to tell with low deer populations already

Just thinking ..
Car insurance industry in 2020 estimated revenue is $288.4 billion..
State Farm is the largest company
1.23 million deer-vehicle collisions occurred in the US between 7/1/2011+ 6/30/2012 costing more than 4 Billion in vehicle damage

Average claim for deer-vehicle collision for same period was $3,305.00
Probably much more today ...

Less deer - less collisions = more profit ..
Big business today

Also vehicle collisions in US cause about 200 fatalities annually..
