Me Henry   I was wondering if you would give me an age on this buck. My guess is 5-1/2

Logic,

This deer appears to have all the makings of a 4/and a half.   It is close to being a 5/ and a half.   I'd like look at it closer some time.

FYI I'll be doing a deer aging class after after the season; save you jaw bones and bring them in.

Logic,

This deer apears to be a 2 and a half year old.

Note that the points on the lower jaw shows little wear, and also the very last tooth in the back is just begining to show wear.

In any event if you can try to save your jaw bones; I'my going to try to get a deer aging clase after the season.

Congratulations;

Dick Henry

Gunner,

Can you give me a side view on your deer ?    It's much easier to age from the side.

Heres a pic of the front half of the jaw bone from a doe i took last weekend. It was a really big doe and the teeth were really worn down.

Attabuck Hunter;

It's a little tough to make out the lower tooth row.

If you have a closer picture of the lower jaw bone I can give you a better age of your deer.
