Velvet gone

Just had a buck in my yard, a 2 1/2 year old, and his velvet is gone. The antlers are a weird orange/rust color, which must be dried blood? Never seen a buck without velvet this early, and never ever saw antlers that color. I wish I could have gotten a pic.

Crazy I have never seen one this early always mid September even as late as late November once

Had one on trail cam cleaned off. two others still in velvet.

I agree, usually second week of Sept. they shed the velvet. They are also starting their winter coat which seems a bit early to me too.

All the bucks on my cams are still in velvet.
