Gypsy moth

The gypsy moths are hammering the trees in my area of 3c the woods look like it’s late November so no mast crop this year hopefully they don’t spread to far

I have not noticed around me (yet) outside of Monticello but did notice when I was riding my bike in Port Jervis. Raining poop

Thankfully very mild at my place in West Shokan, but raining down leaves and poop at my mother's in West Hurley.

I haven't noticed anything like that up here in 4A. 
What I am seeing is that there are actually little apples on the 4-5 apple trees on my property.  I didn't have any on any of the trees last year.  Glad to see them back again.

We need to be more sensitive to the insects--insect poop is the biological waste that is a result of them eating.  The scientific term we need to use is frass.  The wet period (rain) we are predicted to get may cause pathogens to increase in their population thus decreasing the numbers. 8)

most leaves are gone from the oaks around here now there eating the maples..

I have enough other stuff to deal with, I'll count my blessings that Gypsy Moths aren't one of them right now.

no acorns by me and the gunks this year and maybe many years. these oaks may take several years to recover and I'm sure many wont nake it at all.

I remember yrs ago it really wiped out the rock oaks in certain areas
