found puss pocket when butchering, still safe for consumption?

Was butchering out deer yesterday and found a decent size pocket of puss (thick yellow mucus) in left front shoulder.
Saw no puncture holes that may have caused it. Wondering what y'all think or know about meat being safe for consumption?
Cheers!

Just cut around it .. definitely had some sort of injury there ...inspect it for broadhead , bullet , etc .
Found a broadhead in a deers neck this year , all festered up with same yellow mucus..
