My understanding is that they used a net from a boat. Multiple trips in the same day and I believe they were going to Japanese restaurant. I’m sure I’m missing some details, but this is what I’ve read.

The state needs to reevaluate and restructure the fine scale. There is no deterrent when the state in most cases gives them a slap on the wrist. In cases like this where the poaching is done with the intent to make a profit from sale of the poached items there should be mandatory jail time and severe fines. This way the penalty outweighs the risk.

I agree. Who knows how many times,  possibly years these guys got away with it. They could have caught and sold $10,000 worth of fish, then get a $5,000 it a win for them.

Agreed, fines for fish and game violations should be much higher, and the more serious violations should include jail time. Any restaurant caught buying illegal fish should be permanently closed.

Rapists are getting let go with no bail. Unfortunately, I don’t think we should expect much in the way of punishment for these lowlifes
