Sunday morning I decided to reach out to a fellow member of HVS who also happens to be a brother tin knocker as well as a hell of a Striper fisherman. He and his son took me to their spot, which will forever remain a secret😉
We had live bait almost as soon as we got to the water and had our 1st few runs shortly after without even getting all of our rods out...lol
Almost immediately we landed a few while these guys just stocked the bait buckets for the day.
A short time later one of my rods fires again and I hooked into a beastly fish peeling drag and headed for the ocean and like a rookie I had my drag to tight and broke it off. Feeling bummed we fished on and shortly after we were into another fish.
All day long these guys fed me bait and a steady supply of Striper as well. Not only did they feed me bait but his sons 2 friends and their Naibor and his buddy as well. They pretty much ended up getting us all on fish. All of this while my new friend never even attempted to touch a rod after landing his 1st fish of the morning.
These guys worked their butte off all day making sure every rod had a fresh bait and everyone was into fish! We ended the day with 20 runs and around 12 or so landed I went 7/10 myself with almost all fish in the 30” range and a few for eating.
It was really awesome. My new buddy isn’t a social media guy but I’m sure he will see this post and that’s really what this post is all about.
I just wanted to say thank you Paul for letting me have one of my best days on the river with you and your son!
You guys are great anglers and really good people in general and I appreciate you sharing the day with me!
I hope to repay the favor ASAP on the trout river once Striper leave town...Tight lines and good times boys! I hope we can do it again soon...
