Thanks for posting the pics! Short story about the hunt. I wasn’t able to get in the woods for a couple weeks, so I was itching to get out Saturday morning. Decided to hunt a spot I had a good hunt the last time I was out 2 weekends prior with small bucks grunting and chasing does around. My best friend and hunting partner, Ian, has been working overnights and got out early to meet me and sit with me(Double set). We had a lone doe come by early and around 8am, Ian turns around and says “I see one, I think it’s a buck” Picks up binos and says “Shooter, shooter”. Then he disappears for 20 mins and pops up closer but working away from us. Hit the grunt and he stops, perks up his ears and keeps walking. We look at each other and both say try snort wheeze. As soon as he heard that, he turned around and came straight to us. Got to 20 yards and I pull back. He starts to make a rub and I’m just holding it for a minute or so. Finally he takes a few more steps and I let it fly! A 50 yard tracking job and I was a happy man! Couldn’t be happier with him, a main frame 9 pointer with a. Kicker off one of his brows.
