I see this is an old post but I've been looking everywhere for the strike guard line release.
I have found a retailer that claims to have them for $15. Have not followed up on it yet. If possible would like to find them for less. Being a guide, it's costly to have many on hand. I would recommend drilling a hole in the plastic clamp on the existing ones and tying a piece of line looped over the rod. With the stainless metal in them, they go to the bottom in a hurry.

thanks

Sorry for the late reply but I dont have access to the original ones but i make my own with 3d printed abs and they have the same ballbearing spring tension  system they work great. I sell them for $8 each and i make 2 styles one with clips like original and the other uses a ziptie so they last forever i also replace them if they break for free. Sold over 200 and have yet to hear one broke. Let me know if u wanna try a few out i also cover all shipping costs. My number is 2034909614 if your interested just shoot me a text or call anytime. Thanks
John

Jeff,

All our sales go through the website. Call me paranoid, but I'm hesitant to call random numbers that I don't know - (I've been screwed before by scammers).

On our website, you have the option to purchase them in Blue or Black. We also list our email address on the website should you have any further questions or concerns.

Please visit our website: https://jjbaitguards.com/

I disagree kinda. Some baitrunner reels don't get loose enough for trout, the trout feel the resistance and let go of the bait.  The Penn Fierce II Live Liner 2500 is an example, the Live Liner just does not adjust loose enough.
I use a standard spinning reel bail open, and I tuck a pinch of line under one of my daughters hair ties that I leave around the handle of the rod. Never tried a strike guard, but same principle.

Never tried them. But run Kast King baitrunners. Never had a problem get baitrunner set light enough for trout.
