they hold your line in place well keeping the bail open so when a fish hits, you will notice the line going out, thus called a strike guard best use in my opinion is out of a boat well trying to suspend bait at a certain depth, but can be used from shore as well, form shore best used during day light due to fact there is little to no noise when a hit occurs, I also use them well ice fishing so I can leave a jigging pole un attended well I check tip ups or do other things kinda of makes sure I wont lose the pole down the hole unless I run out of line

We used to use these while shore fishing up at the chimney hole , but we would rig up an old beer can with a stick , so we would hear it when we had a strike ..

Hello everyone!

I'm going to start manufacturing strike guards if anyone is interested. It seems like the company that used to make them is out of business and you can rarely find them on ebay.  I've made some improvements to the old design and the prototype works well. When you snap the line it is always in contact with the detente, no messin with it! It will be a few weeks before I have the first batch ready. They will be about $15 each. I just want to get an idea if people are still interested in them.

Did anyone ever re-make these. I am looking for a dozen. I was getting ready to have molds cut if no one makes them
