The first batch I'm getting is made from Polyamide material which I believe is 3D printed. The next batch will be made using a higher resolution, Stereolithography printing method.

Strike guard update:

I got my first models in yesterday and they came out OK. The material is a littler stiffer than I expected and has a granular texture. The texture makes it difficult to smoothly snap it onto the rod and I was worried about damaging the cork. The white was also a problem so I dyed some of them blue. I am going to try a different material that is more flexible and smoother, may be another week or so.

Looking good. You should think about making one with out the clamps just a small radius and two tabs or a gap behind that you can thread a zip tie through. Then it would fit any rod and wouldn't fall off.

Or a simple tab somehwere with a hole that we could use line or a zip tie. An extra precaution for falling off the rod. Just a thought

The next batch will have a loop that can be used to secure it to the rod. I ordered some bright orange rubber bands to attach the strike guard to the rod. I figured orange rubber bands would make it more visible if dropped.
