Hey everyone, my name is Charlie Staby I live in Saugerties . I have been checking out this web site since last winter when a friend of mine mentioned it to me. My friend knows that I'm really into finding arrowheads and artifacts and told me to check out the outdoor activities page and, now I know I am not alone. I am married, have two kids; boy 11, girl 4 and do a little bit of hunting and fishing also. I've done alittle bit of metal detecting and I am looking into doing some more of that as soon as the ground thaws and time allows. Other hobbies and interest include hiking, bee keeping, mushroom hunting, gardening, researching local history, whatever my kids are into (except video games), and thanking god daily.

My name is Mike and I live in Goshen since 2003 moving back to the area that I grew up in from New Hampshire. Amazing how grown up the area has become with most of my old hunting land full of houses. Family loves to Fish, Hunt, Hike and anything outdoors. Great to have a local site to see what is going on in the sportsmen world. Thanks Ron.  (hunter) (hunt) .:rifle:.

Hey members, My name is brian simmons and I live in redding CT. I stummbled onto this site looking for info on catskill reservoirs and to see how their doing since its been 20 years since i fished them. Its saddens me to hear about the ashokan not doing so well,OH! the rainbows that it used to grow!Well anyway,I target big browns and walleye here in western ct with reckless abandon! Not alot of choices though!.Saugatuck reservoir is #1 .Similar to southeast NY reservoirs but no boats allowed.Keeps fishing pressure WAY down! When the thermal sqeeze sets up in june its freshwater surf casting time!.#2 is Squantz pond . Walleye fishing there is stupid good. And yea we have all the same problems here too!(didymo, zebras, waterchestnuts, posted signs that mutiply!!!.How are the salmon in Neversink res. doing?.Has there been any browns approching 30lbs. caught in cannonsville yet?.These are the things i gotta find out and your site is just the place.Love fishing the catskill reservoirs,Always will!

I have not heard of any 30lb ers caught yet in any of the reservoirs. The salmon in the neversink never really took well i would guess because i only know about 1 taken in the last couple years and i fish this reservoir quit a bit. Although the ashokan has been a mud dump lately some of the locals who know what they are doing still manage to catch some real nice fish. Welcome to the site and hope to hear about some of your fishing adventures.
