I have been wondering why new members have not been introducing themselves lately, well I just realized this topic somehow fell through the cracks and was deep into page 5 and now it's back as a sticky on top of page 1. No excuses now.lol ;) lets hear it.

Great job to all on creating and maintaining this forum.
I’ve discovered HVS through the recent THR article about ten year old hunting accident victim David Calabrese. Great job to all for helping the family and David. All of the best to David.
I’ve been hunting and fishing the Hudson Valley, Catskills and ‘Dacks for many years with family and friends.
If it wasn’t for my mentor Uncle (and others) – a WWII B-17 hero who introduced me to hunting, fishing, shooting, our environment etc.  - I wouldn’t be sitting here writing this short intro.
As a child I remember walking-up into the attic to page through Unc’s stack of old Conservationists’ Magazines. This was an early education for me that eventually had a great influence on my personal and professional life.
I’ve hunted, fished and camped together with family and friends for many years and I’ve got many great pictures and memories that’ll never fade away.
The most important part of hunting and fishing (imho) is the pre and post-hunt pep talk, strategy and old stories - which could last for months until the next opener. This is important because future hunters and fishers are listening to the old stories being told.
A successful hunting or fishing venture is not only about the catch or the kill.
“A family who hunts and fishes together stays together.”
Peace to all for the holidays, new year and beyond.

Hi all, Merry Christmas! My name is Jon Lindgren. I am 37 and grew up in Accord. I currently live in Ulster Park. I started hunting with my Dad when I was just old enough to get bundled up and fall asleep next to a tree. Since then I have enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping. I like to deer hunt with bow, rifle and muzzleloader.

My name is Steve McDonald. I live in Staatsburg, Dutchess County. I am a past president, director and trustee of Neighbor's Gun and currently the Federation Delegate. I am a past director of Ti Yogi Bowman. Currently, Secretary of the Federation of Dutchess County Fish & Game Clubs. I am coming up to 20 years as a DEC Hunter Education Instructor, NRA Rifle & Pistol Marksmanship Instructor. Life-Endowment Member NRA, Regular Member of Compton's Traditional Bowhunters and the American Broadhead Collector's Club. Member of the Hudson River Estuary Management Advisory Commission.

When I am not making or flinging traditional wood arrows, I am somewhere in the Catskills or Adirondacks casting a fly to a hopeful trout, steelhead or salmon.

As I near retirement, will be revitalizing myself as a wildlife artist. Potentially a second career.  Hope to anyway.
