Pistol permit

I recently purchased a used Ruger single six 22/ 22 mag , stainless steel revolver..
Gun was shipped to my FFL , and it arrived yesterday..
I delivered the paperwork to the sheriff’s office …
Now we wait for the judge to sign my purchase coupon..

Anybody do this recently, how long was your wait time …?
Seems like I waited a long time , to get my last purchase coupon back..( months)..

From my understanding of this process, a lot depends on what county is processing the paperwork.

It actually depends on what judge you get .
Some are faster than others , I’m in ulster county..
There is no reason for this waiting period !

Been 2 weeks or more so far to get my guns on my daughter's permit

Rather than driving to the Ulster Co. sheriff's office I did my paperwork via email and it took close to 8 weeks to receive my coupon.  I dropped paperwork off for a new purchase two weeks ago and still waiting.  I'll let you know.

I just received two coupons back on 5/13.  One took just over 5 weeks to process the other one took just under 4 weeks.

My daughter just got co ownership of my guns 2 months

In Orange County it took me 4 weeks to add a new pistol to my permit.

Just an update on my pistol permit purchase coupon
I still have not received my purchase coupon from the judge
This was dropped off at sheriffs office on April 5th !!!
A call into the judges chamber and the clerk suggested I call the sheriffs department
The girl in the pistol permit department, advised me that my paperwork was not sent to the judge until June 9th !!

I asked for what reason it took 2 months for them to send my paperwork to the judge ??
Her reply was that they are under staffed and that they are part time workers!!!!!!

2 months it sat on somebody’s desk up there !!
Absolutely ridiculous, this nonsense attitude they have in there .
All this time I thought it was the judge causing the delays, but I was wrong!!

The next time you drop off paperwork there , call them every day to make sure it’s getting processed
What a big PIA , this whole process has become .! They could care less …

I’d like to file a formal complaint, but who do you talk to - the mayor ? The sheriff himself?
I’m absolutely disgusted with these people
