The wind kept me off the water last weekend for Blackfish (Tautog) opener, but I got out this past Saturday . . . .

Got out to the Sound also. Started off with a bunch of shorts...but as our technique got better so did our fish.  Landed a bunch of keepers on the west side of Fishers Island.

Just came back from three days of blackfishing in Montauk. Slammed them. Made a nice pot of blackfish chowder and had some francese style. Awesome

Zif, im now hooked on light tackle tog jigging. Had to use heavy weights once the tide got moving. What a fight on 10lb spinning gear!!

Got my kayak out in LIS yesterday and managed 3 keepers between 16" and 17.5", along with lots of shorts of course. Caught in 10' or less of water, tried to fish where bigger boats would hesitate to go. Along with some walleye and crappie from earlier in the week we are eating well!
