Looking to possibly shoot up North Saturday AM and fish for the day. Any tips for northern pike in Sacandaga Lake?

Different lake, but recently I had really good luck with pike by trolling crankbaits outside weedy areas. They seemed to prefer water between 25' and 30' deep that was nearby weed beds. They wanted the lure fairly close to the bottom, I was doing 3 colors of lead mostly with deep diving stick baits like Tail Dancer, Deep Husky Jerk, etc. getting it right near the bottom. Had fish up to 40", and lost one trying to get it in the boat that looked to be 45". I would think you'll find a similar pattern at Sacandaga. Good luck!

Not on Sacandaga - got this one in 1000 islands last week, 30 feet with a worm, we were fishing small mouth.  I plan to hit Sacandaga for walleyes in the next week or two .... good luck!

Mike, I would add that all fish I caught were on smaller lures, 4" and under. When I caught the first few pike on lures I use for trout, I thought I would try switching to big stuff, saltwater Bombers and such, but not a touch, they wanted small.

Hope all is well with you too pal! Nope, at least not a local trout spot. There are trout there too, and big ones, but I struggle with them.
No sawbellies there, the trout eat mainly smelt, and in most of the lake the water is shallower than the reservoirs, so it's different.
It's only been what, five years for that thing? Hopefully within another five we'll hear good news!
