Over the hill gang
« on: August 02, 2020, 04:38:40 PM »
This is for anyone that's trying to stay in some kind of shape
For hunting season,  or what ever your motivation is. You have to keep going,  walking,  riding a bike, going to a gym. Etc.  I ride a mountain bike most every morning 5 + miles, stop and get a picture of some critters now and then,  days I walk , i get more pictures.  Love the outdoors.
My uncle bob i took hunting,  on his last hunt up in Newcomb,  he was 87 years old, he's in a nursing home now at 92. I hope to be able to carry my rifle and a backpack into the woods when iam 87. Will try to post some pictures

So true! . . . . here is my pedometer for the past few days!
Gotta keep moving! . . . . I went  out and cut and carted this red oak after my 4.8 mile walk this morning!

That will work up sweat, good for you !!
I have been working in the woods,  clearing out a place to make a food plot, not fun in 80+ degree weather.

Got my 5.22 mile ride in this morning,  seen 13 deer, no bunnies,  had a good rain last night, the bunny rabbits don't like the wet grass.

Walkabout,  I have been walking every day for about 7 years
2.5 to 3 miles, then last fall I pulled a couple of my old bikes out of the shed, they were in bad shape. Chains rusted, tires rotten,  went to work on them, cleaned them up. Rode bought of them, then decided, I liked the mountain bike better. Than the touring bike.
Iam going to head out into my woods with  the quad, and start dragging my dead falling tree down by my swamp, and out of the way, so more young brush, can sprout up , and maybe through some clover around
Have a good Day

Out in the woods, clearing the blowdowns, opening the forest
Floor, letting the sun shine in. Taking a break working up a sweat all ready. Just so you know iam not kidding,  I do have a beautiful swamp, and a moose crossing sign.

klondike, the covid thing spooked me. I lost 30lbs and have been walking, never felt better! I was starting to relax the diet and walking. Another 5-10 pounds and keep walking. You are an inspiration and what you are doing is awesome! Keep it going... I'll be enjoying my hunting, fishing and trapping much, much more.  Thank you and nothing but the best of luck this upcoming season.

Bart,  good for you, even in the winter time, when the snow banks get to big, and dangerous to walk the road,  I jump in the truck, and head to my tractor supply store strip mall, and walk around the stores and parking lot 3 or 4 times

Didn't start to come down hard till I got about 3/4's of the way back, got bad news for everyone,  summer is over, the golden rod, is turning yellow,  the sumac trees are turning red
The hickory nuts are dropping in the road.
You better cover that wood pile,  put your snow tires on, winterize that camper & boat, close up that summer camp,
Pick the last of your tomatoes,  turn the garden over, get those deer rifles sighed in.
Having  trouble uploading pictures
