Those are cool bottles! I have an old dumping area in the woods behind my house and I find some pretty cool bottles. I only go after the ones that are partially exposed. Not sure how to dig underground for them, with so much broken glass around there is no way I'm using my hands. Problem too is the whole area is overgrown with pricker bushes!

I have an old bottle dumping grounds behind my house too. Have never really had any interest in them before. Maybe I’ll go do some hunting tomorrow for something interesting and post a couple pictures. I’ve been bored out of my mind this week. This will give me something to do

I grew up in a neighborhood of old farms. They all had trash pits or piles on the property. Any chance of finding bottles there however evaporated about 50 years ago as my next door neighbor and I had BB guns. We dug through and blasted anything that made a viable target in those trash pits.
That said, a few unique bottles survived. One was for Dr. Kilmer's Swamp Root Medicine that my brother found and kept. It dates from somewhere in the 1870-1900 period.
"Medical experts regarded Swamp Root as pure quackery, potentially dangerous and lacking evidence that it cured any disease of the kidney or liver."
