Griz what happened ?  Did that tree fall over from natural causes or was it helped ?

Wind took it down... it's been dead for a long time and the neighbor, after not taking action, was notified via certified mail it was a hazard. As such the insurance company is going after them...

almost same thing happened to me.Adjuster said i had 500 deductible i would only realize a few hundred bucks and it wasnt worth it.

This was worth pursuing... the building and tree are larger than the photo might suggest. The neighbor is liable for the deductible too...

Dont think so Griz .. A friend went through this same thing but on his house and he didnt get a dime and he also had to pay to have the tree removed.. Good luck let us know how u make out.. Sorry to see this..

This happened to my neighbor a few years ago; he also notified them via certified mail as instructed by the insurance company.
He didn't have to pay the deductible, his insurance company went after the neighbors insurance co.

As follow up, ultimately, the neighbor's liability insurance is covering the full clean up and repairs.  Those certified letters advising neighbors of hazards do work!  A second certified letter is going out advising them of continuing hazards... CCing their insurance company.  Insurance companies don't like irresponsible policy holders.  ;)
