There’s a lot of truth to that. What was considered trophy status back then is now mediocrity. I have taxidermy and pictures starting with my beginning years (72) to present day. Genetics and the 3 point rule are key factors. One very important aspect which is rarely mentioned on the 3 point rule is the slow but steady increase in the buck to doe ratio. So very important for a healthy herd. I have with out a doubt been seeing this in the last 3 years. We still have a long way to go but at least it’s in a positive direction.

So true! Trophy bucks from years ago are so- so compared to some of the bucks being taken in the last several years.
