I shot my first buck there in 1992 ..... I stopped going there a few years later when it didn't feel safe anymore running into more questionable hunters than deer ......

I really would like to know how this happened exactly.
Negligent discharge for sure , but how does this happen?

Caller in full camo concealed in thick brush , and imitating a gobbler ?
? hunter ? stalking what he believes to be a gobbler ?
Then shooting blindly ?
you cook good rabbit pilgrim

I don't get up at 4 AM to play catch and release .

A lot of people using strutting decoys. Could have been a factor, but no excuse for what happened.
