POSTING THIs FOR Brandon Dale, PhD  Ambassador, New York Hunters of Color .... if u support it send a message using the attached example ... if u don't support than ignore .......

"Hi Everyone,

I hope you’re all doing well! Stay tuned for upcoming news on turkey camp + a pint night/wild game sampler in the coming months!

I’m reaching out with an important call to action that can directly expand our programs and create more opportunities for hunters of color across New York State.

Attached you’ll find two key documents outlining the urgent need to reclassify crossbows as archery equipment for deer management. Here are the highlights:

• Current Restrictions: New York’s outdated rules don’t recognize crossbows as archery equipment, limiting effective deer management, especially in high-density areas like Westchester and Long Island.

• Conservation & Access Benefits: Crossbows are a safe, ethical, and effective method for harvesting deer. This change would support DEC’s science-based management strategies and open the door for more new hunter participation—benefiting programs that introduce and support hunters of color.

• Legislative Changes Needed: The proposal calls for:

Reclassifying crossbows as archery equipment.
Restoring the DEC’s authority to regulate crossbow use.
Removing outdated equipment restrictions that no longer align with modern advancements.
• Direct Impact for Us: By supporting this initiative, we can expand our access to crossbow programs, which means more resources, increased participation, and greater opportunities for all of us.

I’m asking each of you to take just 3 minutes to call Assemblywoman Glick or email the office (info attached). Your voice can make a huge difference by urging her to support legislation that will enhance our community’s access and opportunities.

For anyone who does this, send me either a screenshot of the email or a screenshot of your call, and you'll be entered to win some hunting/HOC swag!

Thank you for your commitment and action. Let’s work together to drive positive change in our state!

Feel free to reach out with any questions!

Best regards,

Brandon
