No More Back Tags?

My kids and I just got our lifetime licenses in the mail and it’s now on 8-1/2”x11” paper.  WTF.  The letter basically says it’s an effort to modernize and reduce our carbon footprint!
The letter also says that hunters are not required to wear back tags while hunting in NY. 
What a change in tradition.  How do you tag a deer with a piece of paper?  Do you even have to tag them anymore or just call it in?

Decals has been a problem since it was started probably just tired of dealing with it

Says hunters are responsible for tags.Shows on DEC website, tag in ziplock bag and zip tied to deer. Print up ,extras in case something gets wet and ruined.

I'm sure. Still have to call in, which many don't. Went to local town hall to get doe tags. Said they haven't been updated with new system yet. Progress in action.

Went to local shop paid for my license said printer isn't working would have to email me the  tags for me to print out never received it called later said come in Tuesday I work Tuesday and Dec isn't open after 4 new system same ol Dec

Went to town hall to get doe tags. They weren't set up for licenses yet. A bait shop I used to get tags at is no longer doing licenses anymore.

Chalk it up to all the money that is supposed to go towards all the technology for our licenses going to state background checks for purchasing ammunition etc.! It’s sickening how the state is misappropriating funds !! Seems they want people to print extra tags and welcome the illegal tagging to help wipe out deer population! Another “improvement” from the wicked witch and her administration(or whatever you call her cronies)!
