Neversink Reservoir
« on: June 09, 2020, 01:05:13 AM »
Is anyone on here familiar with a area off Aden Rd on the Neversink Reservoir referred to as Lowitz Cove? A back issue of the NY Sportsman magazine from 1987 references Lowitz Cove. I have several maps of the Neversink an none of them use that name, was trying to figure out the area they were talking about. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

I have a copy of that NY Sportsman magazine. Based on a conversation with a friend who lives locally, Lowitz Cove probably refers to the cove between Gorman Flats and York Flats (see NYC Neversink Reservoir Angler Map) Named for a local resident on Aden Road. There is a gated area with a trail on Aden Road just before it bends west towards the intersection with Aden Hill Road.  If you look at the NY Sportsman map you can see the icon for Bullheads in that cove.

Thanks so much for the reply.
