Weird finding with a striper I kept...

So the other day I kept a striper for the table and when I gutted it there were no eggs AND no sperm present! How is this possible? It certainly didn't look "spawned out" and with the river temps being what they are it's not even a possibility.

Maybe it was a male that dumped it sperm recently
