Sure is a stupid idea.  Great for criminal hackers who could use the system to see were all the guns are..

I can't imagine any way it could be done without it being easy for a thief to disable it.

Just goes to show that paper will sit still for anything-- but it still amazes me that people have so much free time on their hands to write down Stupid things on it.  There just has to be a time when you need to tell people to get a life!
