Definitely don't have to hit it as hard as with a hatchet this splits it really easy

Good idea!
If you need that much kindling, then having a specialized set-up for it makes a lot of sense too.

Having used a tank and a half more fuel oil last year I put a 1400 square foot wood stove in basement I have 7 cord ready to go and cut more every weekend
