Ban wildlife contests on Assembly agenda
« on: May 01, 2022, 07:58:38 AM »
A-5746, Provides that it shall be unlawful for any person to organize, sponsor, conduct, promote, or participate in any contest, competition, tournament or derby where the objective of such contest or competition is to take wildlife, is on the Assembly Codes agenda for May 3.  Senate companion is S-6643.

Aren't fish also considered wildlife?
Would that ban also include fishing?

I think people would be willing to ban things like tower shoots, but maybe not realize that they're also voting to ban big buck contests, or any kind of fishing tournament.
Lots of bad implications with this.

Unsure. There's probably a definition of wildlife somewhere in state.
