When I rode my bicycle through the Ennis and Twin Bridges, MT areas I saw a lot of fishing activity. Near Ennis there was a small airport full of private jets. A local guy told me they were there for the trout fishing... At the time I had no idea that fish like this one were in the area! I had images of rainbow and brook trout and fly fishing in my head when I heard "trout fishing."
While fixing a flat tire on my bike near Virginia City, MT (old gold mining town) I met a woman, her mother and her baby. In conversation I found out that her husband was a hunting and fishing guide. He took fisherman on float trips but his favorite thing to guide was upland bird hunting. My son and I stayed at the Bike Camp in Twin Bridges and got to see float fishing boats pass by.... the camp was right on the Beaverhead River and the water moved quickly.
I have to tell you... after seeing that area it got me thinking about relocating! A few years ago I found out an associate had relocated to Twin Bridges after he retired. He lived there until he passed away... He and his wife were very religious people and I imagine that living there was a wonderful segue to heaven.
