Maine Moose Guide
« on: June 14, 2020, 08:22:23 PM »
Looking to see if anyone has been on a Maine moose hunt that can recommend a guide service?
I was lucky enough to get picked for a Permit, Zone 4, in yesterdays drawing.
Even if you have had a guided bear hunt, that you had a good or bad experience with may help, many outfitters guide for both.
Any info would be helpful.

Can’t help with the guide but just wanted to say congrats on drawing that tag. A hard one to get for sure. Good luck on the hunt!

Congrats on your Maine moose tag. I personally haven't hunted with these guides but I've been putting in the lottery for 21 years and have done a lot of research into some of the guides in your zone.I drew a Sept.tag in 2013 for zone 6 and hunted with a great guide and shot a 45 inch Bull the first afternoon of the hunt. You can swap your tag for different zones if you like through mooseswap.com, totally legit. I'll give you his info in case you decide to use moose swap(Dudley Brook guide service,Chris Lawlor) they hunt zone 5,6&11. If I was going to hunt zone 4 I would look into Lake Parlin lodge ( lots of great moose guides work out of this camp), Tylor Kelly Camps, and Ross lake camps ( Ross lake camps just changed owners this year so ask a lot of questions if you speak to them, the new owner was a guide for them. All these camps are reputable. DON"T WAIT TOO LONG TO BOOK YOUR HUNT, THE BEST CAMPS BOOK UP FAST! Good Luck on your hunt!
If you have any questions you can message me and I'll be more than glad to help, i know how special these tags are.
