Upper or lower basin

Hey everyone. I think I have the spot I want to put my boat on the lower basin in the ashokan. For you guys who have fished the lower and upper from boat, or have a boat on both, what is your favorite? Upper or lower? Not asking for spots, just curious.

My friend has a boat on the lower basin.  It used to be near Torino's cove on the south shoreline. He moved it last year across the reservoir.
I think the smallmouth fishing is better at the new spot on the north side of the lower basin.

Curious, is the trout fishing better in the upper or lower basin?

Thanks for the map! I didn’t have that one yet! Like I said I wasn’t looking to take peoples spots, just trying to figure out if people preferred upper or lower basin. I hope to eventually have a boat on both.
