Hmmmm
... Isn't the slot limit for pickerel 5 a day.. man I'm glad you don't fish where I do because you'd wipe out the lake. There's a reason there is slot limits .. nothing wrong with taking a few for the table but ya should follow the law so that everyone can enjoy

Without standing next to me every time I go fishing you have absolutely no idea how many fish I keep or release every season nor do you know the population densities of the place i am fishing I assure you I practice catch and release far far more than i keep but if i am obeying the letter of the law your opinion should be kept to your self i pay for my license for that alone I have the absolutel right to keep every single legal fish i want

For the record a slot limit is when fish between a certain size must be either released or only a fish in a certain size range may be kept. There is no slot limit for pickerel in NY, it’s over 15” an 5 per day. That’s the general angling regulations for NYS. That is not a slot limit. Stripers in the Hudson River for example where 1 fish per day can be kept an it must be between 18-28” is a slot limit.

Maybe he kept them to eat, maybe he kept them to give a a couple to friends, maybe he kept them to put them on his wall, maybe to put in his garden....  the point is, it’s none of anyone’s business what he does with them as long as he stays within the laws
