Lots of grey areas and interpretation here. Would this mean that a hunting club could no longer have a big buck contest, or a heaviest doe contest, for deer harvested and tagged legally?
I know this is not popular opinion here, but I tend to be totally against fishing derbies and tournaments. I've seen the aftermath of bass tournaments, days later, when all the "pro's" are gone there are dead bass everywhere. And a contest just to see who can kill the most whatever species, I'm not in favor of that either to be honest, unless it's for an invasive species like hogs, silver carp, stuff like that.

This from The Sierra Club:   'This does not include contests for hunting white-tailed deer,
turkey, bear, or fishing contests.'

I really dont understand that whole article. Whats the difference if your killing a small or very large coyote? Why is it an issue that you won a contest for bagging the biggest? Maybe the fight should be a bag limit on coyote an fox? Banning contests now is absurd. No one will enforce that rule bc its very hard to prove. No one is breaking the law
