Buck Down

I jumped this buck scouting the day before opening day. I could tell he was worth pursuing. After 5 sits i was able to connect with him Friday evening. I had a doe walking fast at 20 yards come through a blow down and could hear a buck grunting like crazy behind her but couldn't see what it was. I figured it was one of the smaller bucks I routinely watched. He came through the blow down following her and was quartering to me hard at 18 yards and I had just enough light to see my pin, i could tell right away it was him and let the arrow fly. I was confident i made a good shot. He ran right underneath me and stopped at 30 yards and starting walking like nothing was wrong. I oooo my pants. How did i mess that up? I had another arrow knocked but by then i couldn't see my pin. He started doing the drunk walk and fell down. I was ecstatic, but then he got up started walking like nothing was wrong. I figured since he was quartering that hard that I only clipped one lung disgusted with myself. He then walked 40 yards and dropped dead. Shot couldn't have been more perfect. He dressed out at 163lbs at a green score of 127. The first pic is him when i jumped him scouting. I couldn't be happier. I guess the sun shines on a dogs ass once in a while!
