Title: Silver lake in rhinebeck?
Post by: DaveW on February 02, 2019, 08:49:47 PM
I’ve fished it a few times and did pretty good. I hear there’s a public parking spot, anyone know where it is actually located and if it exists? The road along side has extra no trespassing signs on it now so I’d like to find a legal way onto the ice.

Ive gone up there looking for it, but could never find it.  I know the locals dont appreciate the access and keep pulling the signs down, it would be great if some one who knew the area marked the trees, or posted a picture of the parking area.

I lifted this off a kayak site and its accurate.

Be prepared to be screamed at and threatened; I don't bother anymore.

I have fished it since you could rent boats and launch from the road as well as more recently from federation spot I have never been given a hard time and I also would be the wrong person to yell at

I've fished it many times through the ice but never have been given a hard time.
There is a pull off on the right side of the road. Just as someone else said there is a deep part
if you walk straight out from the parking spot.

I always found it fished better at dusk than at first light.

Is there a place to rent boats or to launch a boat ?  I would like to try it in open water.

I went to Long Pond yesterday afternoon, right down the road from silver, and the ice was sketchy thin. I broke through with my boot no problem. Drove by silver and the shore was not looking good and I believe the ice was probably as bad as long pond. Be careful out there guys.

What site did you get it from?  Id like to check it out.

As far as getting yelled at, lets all go at once and 'check' it out.   Id like to launch my yak and before it gets too weedy...

Silver Lake Clinton/Rhinebeck is a private non motorized Lake. The Federation Of Dutchess Co. Fish & Games Clubs owns the third lot in on Fifth Ave. on the lake side. the path is overgrown and there is a section a neighbor has taken to maintaining as if it was her land but it is not.
