Title: Venison shanks

First time cooking them in slow cooker half way through already tender and smelling delicious

looks good .... i used to spend forever picking the meat off of the shanks then adding to the grind until I bought the MEATEATER cookbook making osso bucco https://www.themeateater.com/cook/recipes/braised-shanks-osso-bucco-recipe .... I now freeze the shanks and cut them into disks on a bandsaw ...... instead of carrots i use parsnips..... tastes great

I always let the shanks go with the carcass for coyote bait …
You guys got me wondering now ..

I used to just run them through the grinder newer electric grinders do a great job on them but now I will always keep for the slow cooker

save those shanks .... the meat falls off the bone and melts in your mouth after simmering for 3 or 4 hours
