The first pic looks like golden oyster mushrooms, second pics are chicken of the woods. Both edible! Oysters are better IMO

Although you are possibly correct zif the chicken had a couple other possibilities and as for first one without underside photo your giving an id to a mushroom that could get someone pretty sick  jmo

Your right Sider-- with those things you better be 100% in the know or stick to to ones in Shopright.

Hey merc you’re sooo out of line on this we are not talking about someone’s recipe we are talking about an id on a potential fatal mistake and i am still waiting for zif to show better pictures of the first one and if he ate them

I know 1st hand of an "expert" who spent a week in the hospital because she smelled the wrong mushroom.  Must have snorted some spores up her nose and into her system.  With names like angle of death on some of the local fungus in these parts it is not bad advice to be very careful about this type of foraging.

As to Ron's remark-- good thing about getting old and switching from a 22 to a 410 for those darn apple robbing tree rats is that you don't have to sight in the 410!  Now-- if I could only remember where I left my box of 410 shells🍎🍏 ??? :o

You are absolutely correct Greensider!!! . . . . that one must check the underside to see if the gills run all the way from cap down the stem.(and a few other things) . . . one cannot be too careful with mushroom i.d. if planning on eating them
I truly did not expect Gary to eat them without a more careful examination in person . . . it's hard to be 100% accurate with a photo . . . . Gary has been upstate since and I have not received them yet . . . hope they are still there!
