Ashokan white perch
« on: June 02, 2023, 10:51:27 AM »
I didnt fish the ashokan much last year, but this year i
Have been catching a lot of white perch in the lower basin.
These guys are pretty big and agressively hitting big spoonwhile trolling. I cant imagine how annoying if they start stealing your sawbellies... Anyone else having a similar experience???

They can be very annoying, had some issues with them taking bait in lower basin the last couple trips there, also got some on worms today in the upper basin. The Ashokan used to have excellent yellow perch fishing, now I’m seeing almost all white perch. Has anyone caught many yellows out of there recently?

I used to throw them back thinking they were bony, but not really, and they taste pretty good, not as good as yellows or crappie, but not bad.
