See https://www.dec.ny.gov/docs/administration_pdf/lizards.pdf that I helped write. The fence lizards are quite rare and not in every block depicted on the map (a few sites were probably released animals that died off).

Don’t believe everything the dec says either there are populations of animals they are not aware of they had a ten yard study called the atlas program where people could log reptiles and amphibians they see it improved their knowledge but i am not sure it’s still active

I worked on the atlas for 10 years in the Hudson Valley and around the state. It’s not still active, but new locality records are always welcome.

Definitely should have made it permanent as populations change are you doing any of the cricket frog studies
