Big Ladder Stand
« on: October 19, 2019, 05:17:42 PM »
About 3 years ago, I built a big ladder stand.  Comfort is not an issue.  Plenty of room to move around and places to put your gear.  All pressure treated wood, expanded metal floor, fiberglass seat, angle metal with teeth to grip the tree.   Platform is HUGE, ladder is sturdy.  Platform is at 18 feet.  Served me well the last two seasons but I wont be using it this season.  And I just purchased some scaffolding to build a larger new stand for next season.  So I figure someone might want this one.

Located in Saugerties.  Price $50 and must be able to take it down with me.  Going to need a screw gun to take half the ladder off and probably a trailer to carry it.  Its on a narrow private road that gets no vehicle use for the last 150 feet or so.  Thats where its located.  A truck can get it there.

Message if interested.  I would have to meet on a weekend to pick it up.  Tomorrow Sunday should be fine.  The earlier the better.  Thanks

LOL.  I dont mess around when I build them.  I've built all my own stands.  This is the only wood one I've made.  I normally make them out of steel and weld everything.  I even make the ladders out of 3/4 or 1 inch pipe with stand offs from the tree so your boots dont hit the tree when your climbing.  Then I use 12" long 3/4" bolts, cut the heads off, insert them halfway into the top of the ladder tubes and weld them in.  That way the next section just slips on to increase length.  Always trying to improve them with new ideas.  When the stands are ready,  I strap them to a tree about 3 foot off the ground and get my 300+ pound buddy and me and stand on it and bounce on it.  If it holds, I'll use it.  Never had one fail thankfully.

Good luck out there.
