wow.........hope they can fix you Ron.  The only thing that can come out of this kind of deal thats positive is the lesson for the rest of us is take 2 prior to doing dangerous tasks, do it safely or not at all,  there is always time to do it safely, care for each others well being and safety.  Frequent and regular pauses durning dangerous tasks to stay focused and think about what you are doing.  On the farm, in the shop, at work and at home what happens fast takes much longer to fix if at all.  Wishing you a full recovery and hope you heal quickly.

Wow, damn Ron, that's scary.  I use these types of tools all day and I often find myself just going though the motions and maybe not paying attention as much as I should  Only takes a second.  Good luck with recovery.

Yup it happens quick. Just one piece of advice push whatever your cutting all the way through don't reach around the blade and pull the last couple inches through one little twist caused this kick back pulling my hand into the blade.. surgery tomorrow westchester..

I put Biesemeyer T-Square Anti-kickback Splitters on my last two table saws (Jet contractor saw and Jet Cabinet saw). Today I'd find something equivalent or get a Saw Stop cabinet saw... A zero clearance insert too... The latter keeps small cut offs from being sucked into the insert and interfering with the feed. In more recent years I added a power feeder for repetitive work to cut down the risks... keeps my hands entirely away from the blade. I also know when to stop working when I'm tired... I know too many guys who are missing parts of one or more fingers... I still have all of mine and want to keep it that way!

So surgery went good 5hrs. They recrieved one tendon that snapped down to my wrist when I cut it, they replaced another tendon  with a spare I didn't need from my hand wrist area,  cadaver bone to repair bone and knuckle and fixed up the arteries and nerves. Oh and I looks like there's a pin holding it all together.. I'll be mounting deer before u know it
. Thanks everyone
