NY Pistol permit letter received today

My daughter put in all her paper work for her permit before the sept 1st deadline of the new laws. this is a letter she received today.. Has anyone ever heard of a posses at home licence here in NY.

Yes, and it was also common to put restrictions on a concealed carry license.  Mine was restricted to carry to and from hunting, hiking, fishing, and camping.  I had the restrictions removed when there was a gun friendly judge in office.

I would advise your daughter to get the premises license then have it upgraded to full carry.  Otherwise she starts all over in the application process.

what sucks is sept 1st was the start of the new laws she had her application in prior to that. It's not her fault they didnt procces it before Sept 1st.

It may not do any good, but it can't hurt for your daughter to call the pistol permit office and ask them if there is a mistake since she had applied before September first.

better yet im going there in person on monday.. they gave us a application to fill out she filled out and completed everything on this application they asked for. why would the give her a application to fill out that didnt meet all there requirements. Just a waste of time what bulloooo.

What a crock of bs…..just another way to throw a monkey wrench in the whole process.  Problem is you go in there with any questions and they say speak with the judge we didn’t issue it etc. not our issue.

I don't know why they make it so difficult, to legally own a hand gun ?
Its like they think we are all criminals or something

Her clerk says " well she's very busy you know , she's a family court judge "

Up state , you can walk into pistol permit office, they give you the purchase coupon ,
You go back to the gun store ,  do a back ground check, and they give you your gun ,

That's the way it used to be here years ago ...
Who was responsible for changing this process

I would definitely mention that this application was in before Sept 1 , what a crock!!!
