A buddy caught this 27” today on chunk herring despite the chocolate milkshake condition the river is currently in! . . . I dropped today . . . so much for a clean boat!! >:(

I got two from shore on worms down by the tappen zee 3 days ago. Both fish were 23inches.

Anyone getting herring in Kingston area yet?I know the water is filthy,may try some bloods this weekend.

Herring are showing up in spurts in Kingston. . . but you have to work for them. . .
. . . slow but sure!

Rain/snow has the creeks too fast to do anything...so I stayed at the dock and saved gas. Used up the fresh herring I jigged Monday.
Caught a 33", 34", 35" and a 25" keeper.
They're in boys.

. . . I managed 3 males @ the last hour of incoming. . .
. . . 2 on liveys,1 on chunk . . . . a 26 1/2”, 27” and a 27 3/4”( 9.5 lbs.)

Nice one? What area are you? Still few herring? Planning on launching boat 5/7 this year.

Lucked out, after 3 hours and getting 2 herring, I was rewarded with 37", 19lb.

What a fish Ziffy !!! Congrats to you. I took my son out for a few hours today, he managed one 30” incher. Bait was rather difficult but my buddy Ziffy helped me out with that today. Thanks again pal. My son was smiling from ear to ear !

The centerpin has been a deadly tool this season. I took 20 fish on it in one trip jigging bucktails and paddle tail swim baits. Awesome fights…

Great fish guys ! I finally landed a good one with my 4 yr old who helped me get the net and took the picture for me lol. He also reeled for a few minutes on the smaller one. Mine was 44in 35lbs.

I also saw fish roll up, but in both times it looked like some overzealous males pushed her up and tried, but she wanted no part of it and it broke up right away. Again Congratulations to everyone!!

Had a great day out with perfect weather. Caught a bunch of nice fish averaging almost 40".

Did see a huge splashing/spawning spot on our way down river.

I too will,give a shout out to Captain Pat. Under the same circumstances lost my last Sabine rig. Met him out on the water and he handed me a nice package to keep me going. There just isn’t too many around like this guy. High fives to you Pat!!!

Here’s a few I caught with Ronnie, we had a great time. Notice Ronnie in the background weighing his as we pulled in a double. And then I let a older man get one of my rods, he hadn’t caught anything, I already had caught a few. It would have been my biggest, and was his biggest, it was over 40” and scaled at 32#. Great times!!!

Got another monster today 45 inch female my scale said 38lbs but felt much heavier . had problem scapping herring past 2 days from shore anyone else have trouble getting herring past 2 days?

Fatty from tonight. I think I’m packing it in for the season. Baits getting tough and the shore bite’s slowing down. Hope they don’t shut it down next year… IMO it’s been getting better and better the last few years

My last fish for the season took it mid week on 1st hour out outgoing high tide!

You caught that on a chunk? That chunk must have been the size of a pea! That's awesome, I think the smallest striper I ever caught was maybe 10" or so, while fishing for snappers as a kid.
