Winter activities
« on: January 21, 2021, 08:49:22 AM »
The site has been pretty slow and not many posts so I figured I’d ask what people are doing this time of the year? Rabbit hunting? Trapping? Ice fishing? Bird hunting? Reloading?

I myself pheasant hunt with my GSP, my cousin and his 2 GSP’s and my kids on the weekends. My dog is 1.5 and is doing great with locating birds and holding point.  Still working on the retrieval a little bit but overall she turning out to be a great gun dog / hunting partner.  I also try to find a weekend or two in the North country riding snowmobiles.....

Oh Yeah !

I plan to get out ice fishing this weekend for panfish and plan to go more now that the ice is solid locally but I spend most of outdoor time in the winter mountain biking/fat biking or if too much snow I'll get the snowshoes out. I mostly go to to Port Jervis to ride where the trails are usually dry this time of year

Been out hiking and scouting for deer and turkeys, some river fishing, and if we get some more decent snow, some snowshoeing. Great to see your son is into the outdoors WEM. Well done!

Had an epic calling,  the day before the Snow hit. Me and a buddy killed three coyotes and a bobcat. The next day during the snow, I called in a coyote right at daybreak. 17 mph wind and the snow was coming down sideways. Thought I was crazy, but it worked.
