unlucky buck ... lucky me
« on: December 14, 2023, 11:32:30 AM »
only took 4 different weapon systems and 2 plus months ... Yesterday's Fugly hunt from hell... shot him at 1315 with crossbow 5 minutes in the woods .. had to hide and load the xbow ....  then tracked him the rest of the day watching him run across the thruway ... broke all kind of rules and ran across myself ... i wasn't losing him ... when i crossed was super happy when i saw a white belly to my left and realized it was roadkill ... then i looked right and there he was up against the fence .... and had to drag him back across the NY thruway at 1630 to my side .... https://youtu.be/uNj1LtPYYrE

Wow, way to stick with it.  Where I hunt, there's practically 0% chance a buck is going to cross a road, can't imagine having to bring one back across the thruway.  That's nut.  Glad you got him, congratulations!

Only fitting the Thruway buck story continues... from my skull guy "So your Buck had a completely broken jaw on the one side with a tooth missing and a huge hole… My guess is an antler tine maybe went in there last season caused an infection and the tooth rotted out"

Wow, that’s crazy funny! I can’t imagine what the traffic was thinking seeing you drag a deer across all 4 lanes. Especially any hunters that saw you. You certainly get the determination award. Congratulations on your buck and especially on your efforts.👍
