Ashokan Smallies

Does anyone know if the smallies are at or near spawning in the lower basin of the Ashokan? I haven't been out yet this spring so idk the water temperature. Normally, they'd be about ready to spawn at this point in May, but it seems like its been kind of a chilly spring.

We fished ashokan this morning. We caught 16. Most were caught in about 8-12 ft of water. Had to use ned rig to catch most of them. They weren't chasing crankbaits. Surface temperature was about 52. 2 weeks ago we fished and caught 7.
