Until someone actually goes there and verifies the background it is just another of hundreds of fakes

Mountain lion in the picture, but like greensider said, the DEC can't confirm when and where the photo was taken.  Who knows, maybe a lion passing through, but more likely someone stirring things up.

If it’s real then why doesn’t he stand in front of his camera to prove it. Odds are he’s just trying to stir things up.

Article says one was hit by a car in Lake George back in 2011. Never knew that. Also says they can kill one deer per week on Avg lol that could be devastating

Pretty sure it wasn’t hit by a car in lake George but they confirm it passed through lake George and got hit by a car in Connecticut.

I still find that one weird though. They say that mountain lion originally came from South Dakota and travelled 1800 miles before being hit by the car. The cat apparently was looking for a mate and ended up going all the way around the Great Lakes on his way to CT.

If he did find a mate, after walking 1800 miles he'd be too tired to do anything about it!

Yes, this is true. There were several sightings in NY and then it got killed by a car in CT. The CT conservation dept confirmed that it was a wild mnt lion. Only after they confirmed it, is when NYS DEC released a report that it had been the same mnt lion that had passed through in upstate, it was confirmed thru DNA, the scat from upstate NY matched the DNA that CT had. Crazy but it appears to have happened.
