Trashed the moose club again
« on: January 14, 2020, 11:22:20 AM »
Decided to go fishing at the mooseclub yesterday and saw 2 old couches next to the pond that were dumped by some low life scumbag. This is just the thing that will get everyone banned from fishing there.Myself and a friend are going to go there and take them away so hopefully this won't happen. To the jerk who did this I hop you know that you may have ruined this for all the kids who go there to enjoy some fishing and hang out.
Here is what I saw. >:(

I have to deal with this all the time with my job at NYSDEC. Your tax dollars are spent on (thousands of dollars) picking up and transporting to the Resource Recovery Station. Tires, TV’s, couches, all kinds of junk from when people move out, metal products, food products, paint, C&D, car parts, the list goes on.
It’s truly disgusting what we see. Not to mention it takes us away from our normal detail. We are not garbage men!

What do the Moose club officers say about the problem? They have a stake in keeping their place clean. They might blame the sportsmen for some litter, but they can't think that a fisherman dumped old furniture there. Maybe they would be willing to put up cameras and work with the sportsmen to keep things clean.

FWIW, membership in the Moose is inexpensive and comes with some nice benefits. Most clubs offer beverages and food at very reasonable prices and they are friendly sociable people. I belong to a club in NJ and that gets me access to any Moose clubhouse.

I talked to the person who letters the sign at the moose club and he didn't seem fazed at all about it.Not sure if that is considered thier property or the property of the owner of the pond itself. The last I heard was a bank was responsible for the property by the pond.
