Any youths hunting these days i only heard of one kid bagging a bird this weekend..

kid i was supposed to take never showed up, spoke to his father he said when he tried to wake him up he said nope and rolled over, although i never heard from them so i went driving around and located a few different ones in different locations
one thing for sure is i know i wont stand my self up this weekend LOL

Taylor knocked one down this morning at 30 yards with her 20 gauge. What a proud dad i am..lol Nice bird 8.75" beard 19lbs 7/8" spurs. Very quite in the turkey woods this morning.

Another double with Walkabout!!! What a action packed hunt!!! We had one Tom really hot gobbling like a lunatic but wouldn’t commit when suddenly another came from way behind us, he saw the ole killer Tom decoy and attacked it and I smoked him. Meanwhile the initial Tom was still carrying on, we sat patiently and it took about 2 hours before he couldn’t stand the Killer Tom decoy and, just like the first bird came running in to attack it , Walkabout smoked him. It was all fist bumps and laughing when you see the aggressive Tom’s come running, lol. Another hunt with Ron, that goes in the book of great hunts!!! And by the way both birds couldn’t resist the sweet calls from Ron’s custom calls!!! Totally awesome!!!

Just getting around to posting, but I got this bird Sunday morning after getting busted by a bigger bird on Saturday. I heard him gobbling on the roost and after setting up in the dark and talking with him literally all morning, he finally came in shortly after 11. Little different hunt compared to last years birds who came running in. Well worth the wait. Only my second year turkey hunting, can't believe I waited this long. It's so exciting!

yes this season seems to be a lil harder to pull in birds than the last couple of years.
but thus far I have called in a decent 8" bird for my buddy on the third, and then he took a 5" er on the fourth, yesterday I spent all over Delaware county and called a big ole tom in for my buddy who unfortunately whiffed the shot.
Today was my day, and I took out Al Roper, 10.5" beard and 1" spurs, approx. 18 LBS.
Monday I go after John Holms, he is a big ole paint brush that I have been messing with for at least 3 years, I thought he was dead, due to no sign or sound of him until he made an appearance this am but was hened up
best of luck every one, I think once it warms up a lil more birds with Fall

I tagged out this morning about 830. First time in a few years. This one was a solo hunt, had him skirt me at 45 yards earlier in the morning and then watched him feed for a few hours. As soon as he stopped feeding he stepped back in the woods and I gave him a few soft calls on the HVS custom aluminum call, he put on a really nice show coming in until he got in to range, and it was all over. I couldn’t be more happy, 2 birds with the Stevens .410!!! Super stoked!!! Good luck to everyone.

My son Carter’s earned his 1st bird Saturday - 21lbs, 9” beard and 1 3/8” spurs. He went countless times last year and is hard at it again this season. Seems that everything that could go wrong has but not this time!

Took my glass call out that Ron made for me a couple of years ago to honor a tom (the feather in the call is from that bird) I had shot few years back. I had no intention of using this call in the field but I figured I'll give it a go. Called this bird and a Jake in around 6:45 and only one walked away. The bird was shot in Sullivan county and was 18lbs. 12oz.,9"beard and 1"spurs. Great Calls Ron!!

well let me say, What a day, i called into range 14 different longer beards over 10 different spots, although it seemed they were all grouped up,
two sets of 5 and one of four
also has a few hang ups but we managed a few.
Mine 10" thick beard 1" spurs, tagged out
Friends wife & First ever turkey hunt and bird, 9.25" beard and 7/8" spur
Dads, 9.5" beard but thin, 7/8" spurs, tagged out

again out of 28 years of turkey hunting, yesterday was one of the most exciting. There was even a miss yesterday on a very big bird. But, some one got her first shot jitters out and connected on the next set up

Ps 12 out of 13 days up by 4 am today 5:45 feel like I got to much sleep lol

Well we finally connected today. Bird came in fast and hot, my son had his new Stevens 301 .410 but was unable to get a bead on him due to thick cover and the bird never really stopping where we needed him to. Bird was getting spooked and ready to get the heck outta there so I grabbed the gun and let him have it. 9.5 in beard , 19lbs. Fun morning with great friends.

Another Sullivan County Tom falls for Ron's custom slate call. Tagged out for the season: 17 lbs. 2oz., 9 1/2" beard and 1"spurs.

awesome bird, congrats, and yes they do like the sweet sound of Ron's calls. The one i have is a go to if bird is in roost, after they hit the ground, i must say I almost exclusively use a diaphragm call, Unless I get in a battle with a hen, then the slate comes back out.
Keep at it everyone, I did not take any one out today, but still messed with a bird for about half hr.

was able to sneak out for a few this am.
Took, my buddies wife again in hopes of helping her tag out, in her first season hunting. At the first set up it was very windy but we had a bird on roost gobble maybe 6 times, then a hen way down the valley made a call and we never heard the bird again. I said we can wonder around here for a lil or go back to where you got your first bird, at which she instantly said "yes lets go there" pulled up to second spot, i stepped out of car made a loud yelp, and heard one up on the MTN, again she said lets go. So i grabbed the decoys and down off the bank we went. We ended up sitting in the same exact spot where she had harvested her first bird, and where my friend harvested his second bird on this past Sunday. Once i set the decoys out and we got settled i made a loud aggressive yelp and instantly the bird answered now, half way down the MTN, headed our was. I looked over and said he is coming you ready. "yes i am" She replied. About 10 min went by with the tom answering every call but not moving to far, he had hung up. I told her we are not gonna call until he calls looking for me, and after about another 5 min he let out a loud gobble now much closer. Again i told her, he is coming, and i let out a soft purr followed by a yelp. at which time he replied with no joke six gobbles in a row, as i all of a sudden watch him jump down off a ledge about 80 yards away. Again i stopped calling and let him work down the bank until he saw the decoys.
He turned at about 60 yards and V lined it straight at the Jake decoy, the whole time i am hearing can i shoot i can see him. I whispered no he will be very close soon. Thankfully she held off and when the bird was about 5 yards from the decoy i said you can take him now, ill call and get his head up
