Title: Senate Codes to take up “ghost guns” bills

Senate Codes Committee (https://www.nysenate.gov/calendar/meetings/codes/february-08-2021/codes-meeting) will livestream Monday at 11:30am.

On the posted agenda are S-13 (https://www.nysenate.gov/legislation/bills/2021/s13), Enacts the "Scott J. Beigel unfinished receiver act" in relation to unfinished frames or receivers, and S-14 (https://www.nysenate.gov/legislation/bills/2021/s14), Enacts the Jose Webster untraceable firearms act.

S-13 defines "unfinished receiver" as so to criminalize the sale and possession of metal and plastic sheets, billets, rods, wires, powders and granules. 

S-14 defines "unfinished receiver" as per S-13 and would criminalize replacing the grips, attachment of an optical sight, and the replacement of a broken pin, screw or spring on any firearm.
